Guerlain Rouge G Jewel Lipstick Compact - 23 Geisha

I discovered Guerlain's Rouge G Lipstick Compact when it was launched and have purchased most of the red shades. My 'shade of the moment' is 23 Geisha. The Rouge G packaging is designed by French jeweler, Lorenz Bäumer and is incredibly stylish - I love carrying these lipsticks around in my handbag! The lipstick itself is of a high standard, with good staying power, pleasant scent and moisturising properties, I would say that the only down side is that the lipstick is fairly weighty so if you are carrying three of these at any one time (as I often do) you will notice it!

MAC Sheertone Blush - Pink Swoon

I recently added MAC's Sheertone Blush in Pink Swoon to my collection and am very impressed. The colour builds well and despite initial appearances, is not too over the top. Total winner in my book :P

Anna Sui Black Rose Compacts

I have a weakness for Anna Sui compacts. Last week I saw the Moisture Rich Powder Foundation with a new compact design and I knew I had to have it. It arrived this week - beautiful and shiny and it was love at first sight :)

Lancome L'Absolu Rouge Lipcolour - 134 Idole

I purchased Lancome's L'Absolu Rouge lipstick in 134 Idole a few months back when I was at my peak of wearing orange reds. I wanted something 'different'. Initially I thought the colour may have been a little too orange, but I was pleasantly surprised when the the orange morphed into a beautiful bright red (thanks to the pink in me)! The lipstick is great - it is light and creamy and very easy to wear. It has even convinced be to go back to the Lancome counter for more red shades.

Urban Decay Lipstick - 5150

I purchased Urban Decay's 5150 lipstick at the same time as Revolution. Looking at it, I wasn't entirely sure what to expect. 5150 is sheer and has flecks of glitter. On me, it turned an almost coral red which was quite nice for a change - I'd say it is a good summer shade, which I seem to need right now in Melbourne as summer is still very much here!

Urban Decay Lipstick - Revolution

I purchased Urban Decay's Revolution Lipstick after seeing it on a beauty blog a couple of months back. I am so impressed with the vibrancy as well as the texture which is very light but VERY rich. The lipstick is smooth and looks absolutely amazing on - glossy without being a gloss. I have a feeling this will be my lipstick of the week! As far as kitsch packaging, the little sword at the base makes it difficult to hold while applying. I am also not overly confident that delicate adornment will last in the chaos that is my hand bag!

Chanel Rouge Coco - Hydrating Creme Lip Colour - 19 Gabrielle

Like most beauty bloggers out there I am smitten with Chanel's new range of hydrating lip colour. My first purchases from this range are 19 Gabrielle and 22 Paris, and I am fairly confident that there will be more - I heart them.

Besame Voluptuous Lip Colour Set - Red Velvet

Besame is a vintage inspired cosmetic company founded by the retro and incredibly elegant Gabriela Hernandez.
Ganriela's cosmetics are highly researched reproductions of original 1940s colours.

The Voluptuous Lip Colour set in Red Velvet includes a full size (modern sized) lipstick, velvet lipstick sleeve, mini lip liner, mini brush and application instructions. As with all Besame products, the packaging is a work of art!

Not only is this lipstick moisturising, highly pigmented and long lasting, but the pointed shape makes it a dream to apply - I love everything about this product. Thank you Besame!

Guerlain Kiss Kiss Extreme Lipstick - 120 Rouge Infini

I have been wearing a lot of bright red coloured lipstick lately so I thought it might be an idea to try something a little darker. I found Guerlain's Kiss Kiss Extreme Lipstick in Rouge Infini 120 within a few minutes of hitting the cosmetic counters - something about those glamorous French cosmetic havens! The texture of this particular lipstick is smooth and light and glides on in one smooth sweep. It has a somewhat fruity scent and feels incredibly moisturizing - described as a velvet finish. Another great red for my collection. My only vent is that it was not long lasting and it left a ring of colour in only a few hours. Great for short outings, but perhaps not for those BIG nights!

Hats: An Anthology by Stephen Jones

British milliner Stephen Jones exhibition ‘Hats: An Anthology by Stephen Jones’ has opened at the Queensland Art Gallery and will run until 27th of June, 2010.

The exhibition arrived direct from London’s Victoria & Albert Museum and show cases a range of Jones' work.
Jones is one of my favourite milliners, working with greats such as John Galliano, Christian Dior and Marc Jacobs. He has also made masterpieces for personal icon of mine, Dita Von Teese.
I am still in two minds as to whether I will make the journey to Queensland, however I decided early on that I did need the V&A book 'Hats: An Anthology by Stephen Jones' and ordered this from the Gallery's bookshop - it arrived last Thursday!

Shiseido Perfect Rouge - RD415 Valentine

I recently purchased Shiseido's Perfect Rouge in RD 415 Valentine. It is a beautiful bright red with an instant WOW factor! The consistency is creamy and light, it doesn't feather and stays put. I had several comments on this shade over the weekend.
